How to upgrade firmware to 1.381

First download FWupdate 1.381  from download section all 3 parts.  Extract update files to folder on desktop.

Next connect nanoscope to PC with cord. It will come up as a hard drive open it to view. Remember in properties to view hidden items. Windows 10 you need to click view. Then click options on far right. Under the view tab in options make sure to show hidden and that no boxes are checked that hide files.

Copy all these files to a Nanoscope back up folder. Once backed up highlight and delete all contents on the Nanoscope hard drive.

Once you have a clean drive with only "system volume information" on it copy and paste the contents from your FWupdate 1.381 folder on your desktop you created earlier.

Now safely eject the Nanoscope from PC. It will begin updating. If it does not turn off Nanoscope for 10 seconds and back on. Update should begin. This is a long update 3-5 minutes. Let it finish do not interrupt it. Once update is done Nanoscope will reset. Scroll down to options on Nanoscope. The bottom right side should say FW: v1.381.  if it does not try again.

You will have no Nanovor on your Nanoscope. You can now put up to 10 on there.  Get the Nanovor files from download section.  Read on here how to add them.

How to add the new Nanovor to your Nanoscope

(if your Nanoscope contains no Nanovor go to step 3)

1. First find the Nanovor you are going to replace on the scope.  This is done by turning on the scope(not connected to pc) and select collections.  The first one in green is "v1" then you count by pressing to the right on the pad.

2. Connect Nanoscope to PC and open the flash drive (Nanoscope).  Take the "v" folder out that you want to replace and place it in a safe place.  This "v" folder is still assigned to your Nanoscope and you can swap it back later.

3. Drag the new modified Nanovor folder to the Nanoscope drive.  Rename the folder v1 if you replaced v1, v2 if you replaced v2 ect.  You can do this for v1-v10 folder.  If you are not replacing any Nanovor, but just adding them rename the Nanovor folder you downloaded v1,v2,v3 ect. up to v10.  It is important that the whole folder containing all 3 files is intact.  Each Nanovor is a folder of 3 files.

4. Disconnect Nanoscope and let update.  You should now have the new Nanovor in your collections to be used.
